Facilities

The Heart of Texas Junior Golf Foundation is very proud of its golf facility.

The facility features two 18 hole championship golf courses laid out along the banks of beautiful Lake Waco. The courses were designed by Homan Easley in 1963 and played host to an LPGA event in the early 70′s. Utilizing 18 bunkers and 7 lakes the regulation course provides a challenging layout from the back tees as well as an enjoyable golfing experience from the front tees. The 18-hole executive course, utilizing 5 lakes and several sets of tees, provides not only a place for beginners and intermediate players to learn the game but also a place for advanced players to sharpen their skills as well. The course consist of 4 holes around 90 yards in length, 4 holes over 200 yards in length and the remaining 10 holes somewhere in between. Both courses provide challenging and exciting venues for tournaments as well as individual play. The facility’s Golf Academy is housed in a  5000 sq. ft. building complete with indoor putting green, classroom, club repair room, and 3 hitting bays. The Bays have doors which open and allow students to hit into the range from a controlled environment. Nets are also present so that during extremely poor weather the doors may be shut and lessons can continue. The facility has central heat and air, and is equipped with 3 state of the art video teaching systems. The academy has its own putting greens and practice holes for students as well as outdoor mats and grass hitting stations. An Olympic pool, restaurant, fully stocked pro shop, and lake side camp ground round out the facility’s amenities.
